Ideas for Your Summer Bucket List


Summer days are long! That can be a blessing or a curse. By preparing a Summer Bucket List you can make sure you are taking advantage of those long days and warding the inevitable cries of "I'm bored!" at the same time.

Here are some ideas to get you started or to add to list.

  • Go berry picking.
  • Take a nap outdoors. In a hammock, on chaise lounge chair, on a blanket. (Don't forget the sunscreen!)
  • Watch a summer movie like The Sandlot, The Parent Trap, Dirty Dancing, Independence Day, What About Bob?, etc. Watch outdoors if you can. 
  • Swim in a lake.
  • Take a hike.
  • Write your name with a sparkler.
  • Go birdwatching.
  • Enjoy a campfire.

  • Lie on a blanket and star gaze.

  • Go to the beach. It doesn't matter if it is at an ocean, a lake, or a pond. Or, make your own with a sandbox and kiddie pool.
  • Sit on your porch or deck and enjoy a nice, cold drink.
  • Go to a baseball game or other summer sports event.
  • Get out on the water. Boat, canoe, kayak, paddle board, inflatable raft, pool noodles - it doesn't matter what vessel you chose, just get out there.
  • Attend an outdoor summer concert.
