Healing Hands Foundation: Baby Projects

doTERRA's dedication to humanitarian service through the Healing Hands Foundation and through the efforts of Wellness Advocates includes a commitment to supporting the health of mothers and babies in need around the world. Most of these efforts began because an individual or small group saw a need and took action. It always amazes me what can be accomplished by just a few people motivated by love and compassion.

Shanghai Baby's Home

The Shanghai Baby's Home provides surgery and other necessary medical treatments to Chinese infants and children who have been orphaned. A donation from the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation has helped them to carry out their mission to provide care for these children. Learn more on Facebook@ShanghaiBabysHome

Promise Walk for Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia is a condition that can cause serious complications during pregnancy for both mothers and babies. Since 2010 the Preeclampsia Foundation has held an annual Promise Walk raising over over $1.8 million to improve healthcare practices used to diagnose and treat preeclampsia. To help further their cause, doTERRA has provided a product donation for a silent auction that is held in conjunction with the event.

MamaBaby Haiti

In 2010, Jennifer Gallardo travelled to Haiti to offer medical relief after an earthquake devastated the already impoverished nation. As a mother, midwife, and Wellness Advocate, she was deeply affected by the needs she saw, particularly those related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. She established the MamaBaby Haiti non-profit clinic supported largely by her own efforts and donations as well as those of the organization's board members. As need outpaced their ability to provide, the foundation was desperate for additional funds. doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation got involved with a donation matching campaign that raised enough money to purchase solar panels and a new ambulance for the clinic. Shared Pregnancy Women's Center

Many pregnancies are unplanned and often the mother feels alone as she experiences pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. The Shared Pregnancy Women's Center is dedicated to helping women experiencing these challenges which often put them at risk for depression, stress, and other complications. Wellness Advocate Misty Maynard raises funds to support the center in its mission to care for women seeking assistance, support, and comfort during and after their unplanned pregnancies. March of Dimes

March of Dimes has been dedicated to decreasing rates of premature births and ending neonatal death for decades. Wellness Advocate Kerry Stoppiello's premature baby survived through research and support provided by March of Dimes. Now, Kerry fundraises for the March for Babies program to support their mission to prevent premature births and birth defects while increasing the health of babies around the world. Kerry has organized the top fundraising family team in her county and has repeatedly raised around $2,500 to donate to the March for Babies fund. Additionally, her son has been a March for Babies ambassador for several years.

Senegal Health Institute

"doTERRA Wellness Advocate Jill Dieme and her husband Atab founded the Senegal Health Institute in hopes of improving the lives of families in Kafountine, Senegal—Atab’s birthplace. With the help of Jill’s friend and doTERRA Wellness Advocate, Corinna Barrus, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation has become involved in a matching donation program that will allow the Senegal Institute to continue to grow." One of the institute's many focuses is prenatal and postnatal care. Education, safe birthing practices, and family planning are crucial to the health and outcomes of both mothers and babies. doTERRA has donated $50,000 to the institute enabling it to build volunteer housing, an education building, a kitchen, and a storehouse. The impact on the community has been and will continue to be extraordinary. Visit Senegal Health Institute's website to learn more.
